Yes, the title is catchy, I know. But it's not just empty chatter, it's actually possible. You can simply earn money on the side without doing much directly. You just let your blog and Pinterest work for you.
How does it work?
With affiliate marketing. And STOP, if you're thinking directly of Amazon and the like.
Because that's exactly what I thought for a long time, and I didn't even bother to delve into the topic.
Supporting big corporations? No thanks!
Because I'm not one of those people who want to support such big corporations.
Of course, everyone can decide for themselves. For me, it's a matter of conscience, considering the working conditions of such companies, don't you agree?
I don't want to advertise for that!
Now that I'm really into Pinterest marketing and have continued to educate myself, I've come across affiliate marketing frequently and decided to learn more about it.
Of course, I have alternatives to Amazon and the like.
There are plenty of great people, projects, and companies that I already like to use and therefore happily recommend.
Sometimes I just reached out to my favorite companies and asked if they have an affiliate partner program.
And most of them confirmed with a "Yes". So it's a win-win situation for both parties.
Easy registration
To become an affiliate partner, you usually need to register with at least one or several platforms.
There, you enter your details such as name, address, business location, sometimes areas in which you operate affiliates, and bank details.
This usually only takes a few minutes and is confirmed and activated by the provider in no time.
Currently, I'm registered with the platforms "Awin" and "Diggi Store".
If you want to know if a company has an affiliate program, you can also enter this in the search bar of the respective provider.
Or you can enter something like "Company XY affiliate program" in the search bar on Google.
You should usually find what you're looking for that way.
Since my blog, which I use for affiliate marketing, mainly focuses on van life, self-discovery, and mindset, I naturally looked for suitable partners in this niche.
But I firmly believe you can also find companies in your niche that you'd like to support.
How does it all work?
After registering, you can, for example, search for self-discovery courses on "Diggistore".
Various programs will be displayed.
If you want to support a program, you get a link with your name (as you registered before) and a number with the course or product at the end.
You can simply copy this link and embed it, for example, into a blog post on the relevant topic.
I highly recommend only using suitable products or services here and not adding all your favorite programs.
That quickly starts to feel like a "perpetual advertisement".
So if someone reads your blog, clicks on the link, and buys something, you'll get the commission.
It can range from a few cents to who knows what, depending on the percentage the company gives you for your advertising.
The cool thing about all this is that even if the potential customer doesn't buy directly but only 14 days later, you still get the commission.
This is because of the cookies that we all usually accept when visiting a website. They're usually stored for 30 days.
So if this potential customer buys something within those 30 days, the commission is yours.
And since you've written the blog post once and hopefully promoted it on Pinterest, you're earning on the side.
Simply by recommending products and services you already love.
In my opinion, if you're not taking advantage of this, you're almost missing out because it's so easy.
Convinced yet?
So if you also want to join an affiliate partner program, feel free to check out "Diggistore" or "Awin". Of course, you can also directly contact your desired companies, and there are surely other platforms offering partner programs.
I highly recommend this e-book if you want to delve deeper into affiliate marketing:
